Diablo fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Diablo IV since it was first announced by Blizzard back in 2019. As the launch date draws ever nearer, rumors and secrets about the new game are starting to surface. One of the most intriguing stories I've come across involves an extremely powerful demon known as Varshan the Malignant and the sinister ritual required to summon him. Supposedly, performing this dark summoning ritual will allow you to face off against Varshan and claim his unique set of demonic armor as a reward. However, the ingredients and steps needed to complete the ritual are not for the faint of heart. In this guide, I'll reveal how to acquire all the necessary malignant body parts and walk through the full summoning process to call forth Varshan in Diablo IV.

Collecting the Malignant Body Parts
The first step is to collect the various corrupted and mutated body parts that Varshan demands as an offering. Each piece must come from a powerful demon or undead creature that has been twisted and warped by the forces of Hell. Here are the five malignant body parts you will need to summon Varshan:

Decaying Heart
This diseased organ can only be found inside the chest cavity of elite Greater Massive demons. These hulking brutes will only spawn in the deepest, most dangerous areas of Hell such as the Labyrinth of Pain. Be prepared for a challenging fight if you want to claim their decaying hearts. Look for any Diablo IV Gold or Diablo IV Items they drop as well to aid your summoning efforts.

Putrid Lung
Much like the decaying heart, a putrid lung is only obtainable by defeating elite Bone Singers in Hell. These frightening undead have the ability to emit a poisonous gas from their corrupted lungs. You'll need to catch them by surprise and cut the lung right from their rotting bodies while they're stunned. Keep an eye out for rare Bone Singer spawn locations marked on your map for the best chances of finding one with a putrid lung intact.

Bloated Stomach
For the bloated stomach, you'll have to hunt down and kill an elite Gluttonous Toad. These bulbous frogs can be found in swampy areas of Hell, usually near Fetid Cysts. Their engorged stomachs contain all sorts of foul parasites and waste. Try baiting them with piles of entrails or carcasses to draw them out of hiding. The Toads sometimes regurgitate D4 items when slain as well.

Putrid Spleen
Only Hell's most diseased monsters still have their putrid spleens. Search decaying forests and plague quarantines for rare Carrion Spider dens. Elite Carrion Spiders that have been warped by Hell's corruption will occasionally spawn within. Their bloated abdomens hold the prized putrid spleen. Approach with caution, as the Elite Spiders are quick to inject you with venom.

Diseased Brain
For the final required part, you must retrieve an intact diseased brain. This can only be found within the skull of an elite Corrupted Evoker. These sinister witch doctors dwell deep in swamplands and create zombie plagues. To tap their mental reservoir of foul magic, you'll need to damage them relentlessly until death. Then crack open their skull to pull out the diseased brain within. Keep an eye out for pots of vile concoctions or Diablo IV Gold they may summon as well during the fight.

Preparing the Summoning Ritual
Now that you've gathered all five malignant body parts, it's time to prepare the unholy summoning ritual itself. First, find a large open area as far away from any settlements as possible. An abandoned ruin, barren wasteland, or dark fen will do. The location needs to be remote and secluded to avoid any interruptions or witnesses to the profane ceremony.

Once at the ritual site, draw a 10 foot diameter magic seal in the dirt or sand using powdered onyx, ash, and the blood of a Shadow being such as a Fallen. Make sure the seal is drawn exactly to specifications or it won't work properly. This seal will contain Varshan's vile essence once summoned.

Within the protective barrier of the seal, place each malignant body part in its designated position as shown in demonic tomes. Candles made from rendered demon fat should then be lit and placed at even intervals around the perimeter of the seal. The candles represent the four corners of Hell that Varshan commands.

Fill a brass bowl with unleaded residue collected from Hells and position it in the center of the offering parts. This foul fuel will feed Varshan's hatred and anger upon arrival. Finally, use a gold-tipped dagger to carve Varshan's true name into your own chest or arm. The symbols must be etched in blood for the summoning link to form.

With all preparations complete, you are now ready to recite the incantation and awaken Varshan from the depths of the Burning Hells. But tread carefully - once summoned, Varshan may choose to turn his wrath upon you as well if he deems you unfit to serve him...

Invoking Varshan the Malignant
Stand within the magic seal with the bloodied summoning implement in hand. Face directly north and raise your arms up high. Begin intoning the fell incantation phrase by phrase in the language of the demons. As you recite, the malignant offering parts will bubble, steaming as if boiling. The candles will ignite with an unnatural green flame.

Midway through the incantation, the ground will start to tremble and quake. Dark clouds will roll in, blocking out all sunlight. An oppressive sense of evil and dread will permeate the air. Keep reciting firmly without hesitation or the ritual will fail. The clouds will split apart with a thunderous crack as Varshan begins to emerge.

From the torn sky, two massive red eyes will peer down, burning with bottomless malice. A muscled grey torso and arms will slip free, followed by stout legs and cloven hooves. Letting loose an echoing roar, Varshan will flex razor-sharp claws as long as swords. His foul presence alone threatens to crush the mind and bend the will. But you must complete the summoning!

Finish invoking Varshan's name and the rest of his form will pull free in an outpouring of hellish energies. Standing 20 feet tall, the demon lord Varshan will now behold you within his summoning seal. Blood dripping from etched sigils, maintain eye contact and address Varshan calmly yet boldly. Demand an audience and that he reward your efforts in calling him from the Burning Hells.

Varshan may choose to honor your summoning or blast you with demonfire on the spot. If acknowledged, he will question your strength, cunning, and resolve. Satisfy Varshan's inquiries to prove your worth. Should you pass muster, Varshan will bestow you with a suit of his own chaotic armor crafted from the skins of martyrs and the bones of archangels. Wear it to directly tap into Varshan's sinister might. But be warned - the armor also marks you as Varshan's chosen, for good or ill...

With your audience completed, Varshan will disappear back to the depths whence he came in a swirl of brimstone and shadows. And so ends the mysterious and perilous ritual to summon the powerful demon lord Varshan the Malignant in Diablo IV items. The dark secrets of Hell have been unlocked - but at what cost to your immortal soul? The choices you make from here will echo throughout Sanctuary and the Burning Hells forevermore.

Parting Words
Of course, attempting the ritual I've outlined here should only be done within the confines of Diablo IV once it is released. Summoning real demons is never a good idea. I hope this article has provided some glimpse into the dark lore and epic encounters Blizzard has in store for us in their next chapter of the Diablo franchise. With any luck, we'll all be battling demons, collecting loot, and facing off against mighty bosses like Varshan before we know it. Until then, keep your wits about you adventurers - and Happy Hunting!
