The open world of Diablo 4 features a variety of regular events, and one of these events involves quickly battling hordes of demons in exchange for rewards. The Gathering of the Legions is the first zone event in Diablo 4 that is truly deserving of the name "event," and it will be the first one you experience. It is much less glorious than other world bosses such as Ashava and Avarice, but it is also simpler, and most importantly: much more frequently encountered.
Where they are located and when they can be seenThere are a lot of different locations where something like this could take place. It seems to have at least one position in each region, although in some cases, such as north of the Broken Peaks, this appears to be related to freeing a Bastion. The good news is that five minutes before the legion gathering is scheduled to begin, an icon will show up on both the screen and your map to let you know that it is almost time for the gathering to begin. In addition to this, you will receive a notification whenever this event occurs in a nearby region that you have not yet investigated. This will allow you to arrive in time to take part in the event. Although we have not been able to identify any set schedules for the beginning of this event, it occurs very frequently. Be aware, too, that it is possible for it to occur at the same time as other events, such as the Infernal Waves in the Hard difficulty of World 3. This will make the challenge more difficult, but it will also increase the rewards.

Your participation will have a significant impact on the final result of this event. You won't even be able to see the overlord if you don't kill enough monsters during the first wave; all you'll get in return is some gold and experience points. You will receive between one and three glorious reward chests if you kill underworld servants and then the Overlord.
